Review 12/15/2008

It could be the worst time to write a review because I am FURIOUS!! However, I will do my best to keep my composure. I was completely scammed by Michael Bernard...or whoever the person on the other end of these emails is!
I responded to a mystery shopping ad in the local paper. I know better...I really do. But I knew a lady once who worked as a shopper for a legitimate business...I just don't know how she found one.
Anyway, I get something from this "Michael Bernard" explaining how it all works. I write back with all sorts of questions, thinking that if he's out to scam, he won't waste his time with somebody who is so annoying. But he was happy to respond to every little aggravating question I asked. The best part was, he didn't want any money up front. I
had to open a Citibank account, he said, since that was the fastest way to get money to me to do the shops. So I did. But I didn't put any money in it (still skeptical). He quickly deposited almost $1000 into the account and gave me instructions to "survey" these Western Union locations, where I wired the money to someone else, minus my commission, of course. So I do this three times till he completely stops emailing me. He says I'll have a new assignment Monday morning, and then nothing. I've emailed a bunch of times and gotten nothing. It's been over a week now since I've heard from him.
So now I'm freaking out. And I think, Oh my gosh, the citibank account...I still haven't put any money in it, but he has the acct. info and could be racking up charges to it. So I go online to check. Sure enough, the initial deposit has been reversed. So now I'm in the negative in the bank nearly $1000!!
So I call customer service and tell them that was not authorized! And they tell me there was a dispute against the initial deposit by the same person who made the deposit. So the charge was reversed. Now I have to try to figure out how to dispute that. All I have is a bunch of emails. I don't know what to do, but I sure don't have that kind of money laying around...if I did, I wouldn't be looking for ways to make extra money in the first place!
Look out for Michael Bernard! Or the address 5050 Barranca Pkwy, Irvine, CA. It's a total scam. And I might have to pay back all that money I sent off to I don't even know who!!! Probably will.
Now I have to select my star rating. Unfortunately, there is no negative 5 star rating!!
