After checking BBB rating of Cottrell Custom Builders Inc. and seeing their rating of B+, I signed a contract and handed over required down payment of $7,744.19 to have this contractor do a complete remodel of my kitchen. This was on January 21, 2010 with work to proceed in April of 2010. Well here it is May, 6, 2010 and no work has even started. I am sure no material has been ordered.
I made numerous calls to Curtis Cottrell, the present owners cell phone, with no return calls. I called their office to hear a message the phone line has been disconnected or no longer in service. I made a visit to their office location on Washington to find Suite #8 to have no lights on and no human activity. The front door was also locked during their business hours posted at front door. The street sign and sign at door says this contractor did occupy this space at one time or another.
After further checking this contractors background I am finding out complaints have been around for well over a year. Curtis Cottrell had taken my money knowing he could not complete, or even start this project. Maybe what I know now, he never had any intentions of doing this work.
I am looking for a full refund as this company cannot be trusted.
