I went to Family Legal Resources for help with a custody case. First I pay the initial $100 after this they tell me it will only be $25 a month, after a few days of calls not getting returned and people not answering when you call them, they call my boyfriend and tell them that they are going to have to rush the case and need $500 to get started or it will be too late. He pays the money and when I find out I call to cancel and get our money back because they haven't done what they were supposed to yet and a lump sum of $500 is not what was agreed upon. Once I asked for my money back my case worker, David, tells me he is putting in the order for the refund and then I don't hear back from him or receive my money. When I finally get in touch with him again he tells me he is having someone else call me. I was never called back. He has not answered his phone for me since or returned my messages and then today I finally got someone on the phone and after they put us on hold for 20 minutes, they disconnected the call. I call from a different number to see if they will answer and once again get put on hold and disconnected and now no one will answer the phones. I am truly starting to believe this place is nothing but a scam and plan on filing a complaint with the BBB and am checking now to see if I can file any other complaints or if there are any steps I can take to get my money back. Please do not use this service, you will regret it.
Just to update this review, after weeks of not having my calls returned and answered, I filed a complaint with the better business bureau and after that received and email from family legal resources saying my money had been refunded but it wasn't in the bank. I called flr and they told me it would be about 2 days before it showed up and after a week of waiting it still wasn't there. I called my bank and they were trying to get in touch with flr too to find out where the problem was, finally someone informed me that they had had a glitch with their computer and that my money was never released from flr to me and they did fix this and I finally got my money back.
