Dishonest Crooks! Do Not Spend Your $ Here!
I went in to the Framestore in long beach on 2/2/0/12 to redeem a living social coupon in which I paid $30.00 for $100.00 worth of service. Additionally the deal promised a 50% discount on the entire purchase. I spent over an hour with Kevin (employee), he showed me a number of frames all of which would not fall under the 50%, he had little choices and poor explanations as to why very little was honored within that Living Social deal. I liked a frame which he said he would honor a lower cost (but still not using coupon), I agreed. He drew up the contract for 2 frames (2 art pieces) I signed and paid $381.89 and he said it would take about 1-2 wks for completion. Two days later Kevin calls me to tell me his team would not honor the deal he had made and I would need to pay an additional $200.00 to have the frame which I chose. I asked if there was anyone he could talk to and he said he would call corporate accounting, they offered me a $50.00 discount but I would still pay an additional $150.00 so I said that I'd rather pick up the art and cancel. At the end of the day he calls me again and says they are willing to take off another $50.00 so I would only pay $100.00 (mind you I had already had a contract and paid for what was agreed upon). Turned off, I refused and said I would pick up my artwork. Which I did. 1 wk later they have not refunded or contacted me. I tried calling corporate offices this past Friday, spoke with Koran and she said she would get in touch with accounting first thing Monday morning and process a refund. I just called and spoke with Kevin again, he said he would contact accounting again tomorrow, said they could not process a refund via the credit card used and would need to send a check. Why can't they do that when every single company in the 21st century can? They are basically illegally holding almost $400.00 of my money for not only breaching a contract but services which were not rendered and cancelled. By the way took my artwork to Michaels and got both pieces framed in a much nicer frame with double matting for $400.00 total, and that did not include ANY coupons or discounts. They are crooks and scam artists. Bad customer service. I just filed a complaint with BBB and I will take them to small claims for this. Find another framer.
