In the summer of 2009 a representative of Guidance contacted me by phone 2 different times in an effort to solicit our business. We were falling behind in our mortgage because of my husband's job loss. Getting involved with this group of scam artists was the biggest mistake of our lives. We paid them $3000 up front, were given a dollar amount that our mortgage payment would be reduced to and the promise of 100% success. All of these tactics are now illegal in CA, but because we were desperate, we fell for it. Previous reviewers are correct. . .they never respond, which in itself is a breach of their own contract to "keep their clients informed and respond promptly to inquiries and communications". We also were told not to communicate with Bank of America or to make our payments, which is why we're in the situation we're in now. I contacted the bank on my own, was offered a modification with an expiration and stupidly sought Guidance's advice. Long story short, we missed the time frame because of Guidance and thus the offer for a modification. Our house is now in foreclosure and we may lose it, which I blame squarely on malfeasance by Guidance Mortgage Relief. Their BBB rating was not available when we signed the contract. Too bad. I now see that it's an "F" and well deserved.
