After reading the other post about HP, I have to say, they are nothing but a big scam of a company.
April 30th I called them to get help with my computer, less than a month old. I was only able to view 1/2 of the screen. I explained the problem, did as I was asked by the tech, in order for him to try and assess the problem over the phone. He assured me that it was a Video Chip problem, and that it WAS covered under the warranty. I was told not to worry about it, they would take care of it. I had to of course pay $37.04 for shipping. Fine, no problem for me.
Received the Fed Ex box Tuesday May 3rd and sent it back Weds. May 4th. For about 3 days, I kept getting these phone calls, 3 or 4 times a day, that when I picked up, they HUNG UP. Finally, I let it go to the answering machine, it was HP. They started to leave a message, and I picked up, and wouldn't you know, they HUNG UP on me again. So I had to call back, and was transferred to who knows where. They informed me that my LCD was damaged. UHM, what, "well Ms. It seems that your computer has a crack in the screen". I didn't send it in for a cracked screen. Ok, so now, they tell me it will be $348.75 to fix. I paid $400 for the computer.
I argued my side, I did not send it in with a cracked screen. End of story. They asked if I wanted the computer back, Really, what did they think I was going to do give it to them. They were Nasty, Rude, Disrespectful....And whole lot of other words.
Got the computer back, and Now I have a cracked screen! And to top it off, a computer that will no longer TURN ON. NOTHING! They took my month old computer and destroyed it. I have nothing.
My suggestion, do not Buy any HP products. I have no doubt in my mind that they destroyed my computer, because I wouldn't pay for something that I knew wasn't wrong, when I sent it too them.
Please save yourselves some money. Go with a different company, with a better work ethic and who actually cares about their customers.
