The Seagate 2TB desktop extension I purchased broke in a weeks time and I tried to claim the warranty. Below is what happened as I try to get my replacement:
I ordered an advanced replacement warranty claim of my defective external HDD, Seagate 2TB desktop extension, to Seagate on Feb 22th. My order number is 1003887128 and my case number is 01509001. At that time the agent I contacted promise me that I will get my drive by Feb 25th. I did not receive my drive by 25th, I call their agent on Feb 28th and they told me that for some reason they have not ship that out and they promise me it will be shipped that day (Feb 25th), and I would be getting my drive on Mar 2nd. I call back on 2nd for not getting my driving, the agent repeat the same reason they told me on Feb 28th and promised me again that the drive will be shipped at least on Mar 3rd and I would get the drive by Mar 7th. I called back on Mar 4th for not getting the tracking number, the agent told me again the drive is still not shipped for the same reason and promise me that it will be shipped on that day (Mar 4th) again and I would get it by Mar 7th. I call back on Mar 7th for not getting my drive, this time the agent told me that the drive is still not shipped out yet and he HOPES they can ship it by Mar 11th.
I strongly suspect that Seagate have no intend for carrying out what they promised on the warranty service, or at least intentionally delay it as I have wasted 3 weeks of my warranty period on this issue. I will not buy anything from Seagate in the future and I strongly advise others no to do so. Maybe their price is cheaper then their competitor by that certainly do not worth the time I wasted to deal with them.
